Belfast Food and Pub Tours: Which One Is Worth It?
Updated October 22, 2026 · 5 min read
For most first-time visitors, the pubs, music and street art walking tour is the easiest to say yes to: €26.23 for 2.5 hours, rated 4.8 from 56 reviews. If you want to eat properly on a tour, the local food tour is the one, at €107.20.
The five options
| Tour | Length | Price | Rating | What the summary says |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Local food tour with 10 tastings of seafood and beers | 3.5 hours | €107.20 | 4.7, 62 reviews | 6-plus dishes including a local breakfast, Northern Irish specialities, drinks in historic pubs, a secret dish |
| Guided craft beer and street food tour | 3.5 hours | €101.35 | 5.0, 6 reviews | Craft beer and street food with a “beer geek” guide |
| Pub crawl and bar walking tour with two drinks | 3.5 hours | €19.08 | 4.8, 122 reviews | Historic and modern pubs, live music, two drinks |
| Pubs, music and street art walking tour | 2.5 hours | €26.23 | 4.8, 56 reviews | Street art, pubs and live music venues in a UNESCO City of Music |
| City centre beer bike tour | 1 hour | €26.23 | 4.3, 390 reviews | Pedal-powered group bike, bring your own drinks |
Prices are per person. The two food-led tours cost roughly four to five times as much as the pub tours, and that is where the money goes: the €107.20 tour is the only one whose summary promises a breakfast and a run of dishes. The €101.35 tour has only six reviews, so its perfect score is too thin to lean on.
Pubs: what to know before you go
Belfast’s old pubs are a reason to go in themselves. Ireland.com’s list of brilliant Belfast pubs describes the Crown Liquor Saloon for its tiles, stained glass and carved wood, and Kelly’s Cellars as a stalwart since 1720 with traditional music sessions several days a week. White’s Tavern claims to be the oldest bar in the city, with a hostelry on the site since 1630. The Cathedral Quarter is the district for the evening.
You do not need a tour to visit them. A tour adds a guide and a route. The €19.08 pub crawl includes two drinks, according to the listing, which makes the price easy to judge; on the others, read the booking page for what is and is not included, because we cannot tell from the summaries.
St George’s Market
If you want food without paying for a tour, St George’s Market opens Friday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, according to Belfast City Council. Friday is the variety market, Saturday the food and craft market, Sunday a mix with an emphasis on local crafts. It is a good first stop before an evening tour, or a Saturday lunch.
The beer bike
The beer bike is a different thing: a one-hour, pedal-powered ride, and you bring your own drinks. It is the most-reviewed of the five, with 390 reviews, but its 4.3 rating is the lowest of the five. Take it as a fun hour with friends, not as a way to learn about Belfast. A Cathedral Quarter version of the ride is also on offer and is rated 3.6 from 45 reviews.
Which one?
- You want a proper meal: the local food tour.
- You want pubs, music and a bit of history for an evening: the pubs, music and street art walk, or the pub crawl if you want the cheapest option with drinks included.
- You prefer whiskey to beer: see our whiskey and gin tours page, and our walking tours for more routes on foot.
If you have a dietary need or an allergy, write to the operator before you book; the summaries say nothing about it, and we have not checked the menus. Many other things to do are on our things to do in Belfast page.
